MyCERT offers a complimentary remote security scanning service for Malaysians and organizations in Malaysia. This service is by no means a complete nor a full security testing exercise but act as an additional security measure. In the past, organizations deploying a server or service that is accessible via the Internet had used this service. A report produced at the end of the exercise will provide an insight to the organization on what is visible from an outside network.
MyCERT will utilize off-the-shelf and freely available remote vulnerability scanning tools. The scan and the report generation are fully automated. The organization is therefore expected to verify the results and take necessary steps to secure the server or service being scanned.
* Remote scan results of an organization's server or servers based on the IP or domain names provided.
* Identification of the Operating Systems.
* Identification of open ports and services.
* Identification of older or vulnerable applications running on the server.
* Recommendation for applying patches, fixes, and upgrades if applicable.
* Recommendation for applying relevant hardening measures.
The service is offered to all Malaysian organizations, regardless of which sector or business entities they belong to.
